Cleator Moor has many of the amenities such as schools and hospitals for the surrounding area, though the newly built West Lakes Academy located in Egremont is available for secondary age students. Ennerdale and Kinnislade Primary School in Cleator is also an option for children in the Ennersdale area.

Cleator,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], thanks to its closeness to the bigger town of Cleater Moor,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], has more amenities than Ennerdale with several shops, pubs and accommodation choices. Ennerdale is much more limited,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], however both the villages are close to each other and to the town of Whitehaven which offer all the amenities of a sizeable market town. Whitehaven is also the start of the Coast to Coast cyclepath with runs through both Cleator and Ennerdale and is a hugely popular tourist attraction. The path itself runs on through to the East Coast and every year thousands of people cycle the whole route or part of the route every summer.
Famed for its Lake District National Park,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], it is easy to see why England's second largest county, Cumbria, is such a popular tourist destination. Primarily rural,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], Cumbria has plenty of market towns and picturesque villages dotted throughout the countryside. Cumbria is also close to the Yorkshire Dales,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], the North Pennines and within easy reach of the Border Country between Scotland and England.
Cleator and Ennerdale offer the chance of being in a lovely location with access to some of the county's most amazing countryside but within easy access to nearby towns with all the amenities and transport connections,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych].
The village and surrounding area is primarily agricultural though in its distant past both iron and haematite were mined in the valley. Ennerdale also had a thriving weaving industry. Nowadays, like most villages in the Lake District, tourism is the major industry and the village is where many people start their visit to Ennerdale Water. The village is also close to the West Cumbria Cyclepath and Wainwrights coast-to-coast walk. Ennerdale village has two pubs and a small village shop so is a popular stopping point whilst walking or cycling in the area.

The nearby village of Cleator,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], only a mile from the town of Cleator Moor is also a lovely place to visit. Iron ore mining was prevalent in the area from the 12th century and became particularly commercialised during the industrial revolution when iron works were built in the 1840s. Cleator once had an important rail connection,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], which ran from Whitehaven through to Sellafield and Distington. The rail lines now make up part of the Coast to Coast cycle path.
If you are looking for Houses for Sale in Ennerdale please visit Propertywide to find Local Conveyancing Solicitors.
The villages of Ennerdale and Cleator are both extremely picturesque and close to some areas of outstanding natural beauty. The village of Ennerdale is on a winding road from the town of Cleator Moor to Ennerdale Water,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]. The village is made up of primarily more modern houses near the River Ehen. Ennerdale Water is the furthest west of the lakes in the Lake District and the only one of the lakes that has no direct road views. This makes Ennerdale Water more remote than some of the other lakes meaning it is less crowded even during to the peak season.

Author&#039,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych];s Bio:
When we attempt to partner with Wi-Fi for a computer or phone it asks if we want to connect. Your highest self is asking the same thing. I’m right here,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], I’m wireless and I’m everywhere. Do you want to connect?
Doesn’t everybody you know have their own particular brand of crazy? You can know the coolest person and they have at least one something that is a problem for them. People can look at another person and think that they person has it all together and from the outside they do and in most regards they do but even they have their stuff. Maybe it’s a love relationship that eludes them and always ends poorly, maybe its money, or maybe they have success,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], or they have done well with money and the relationship but always feel empty inside. Maybe they work too much,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], or not enough. Each person has their life lesson they’re working on (and sometimes it’s more than one).
When we veer off the path and into the valley of fear or stress or I’m not _(fill in the blank)___ enough, or overwhelm, or financial craziness…whatever your variety of crazy…. Come back little Sheba. And reconnect with Source. You always are connected anyway. You just need to be reminded now and then. Smile
Do you believe in a Higher Power? In Source, or God Goddess All There is…Allah,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], Buddha,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], Yahweh….a good kind Universe? Whatever you attribute your energy and creation to, know that you are always connected. We act as though we are not. Like we need to meditate to get there. But truthfully we are at all times a part of and beloved by Source. So when the crazies are getting to you, and they will from time to time, stop. Recognize it for what it is and take a breath and stop. Now, new choice. Step into your greatness. Source is always connected to you, you just dimly forget from time to time. Reconnect, reengage, they were always here, you just went away momentarily. Step forward into the light of the highest on high and who you truly are.
What I know for sure is that no brand of crazy owns me. Crazy is as crazy does. So when my crazy comes up I acknowledge it. Usually I’m IN it for a short spell before I realize oh…this is all an illusion. You’re not real, Mr. Crazy. You’re trying to make me THINK this potential horror is real. So thank you for sharing and I gotta tell you. This is my life. This is my world. I do this my way and even thought you are rearing your ugly head I am still gonna do it. That’s right. I am still moving forward. Thank you for sharing but I am going to take a step through you to the other side,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], because I have a choice. And I choose to NOT connect with you, and to instead connect with what is real and right for me. I am designed for great things, for joy,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], for happiness. I am worthy and worth the treasures and riches and dreams come true.

Whatever your brand of crazy is you have the ability, in spite of your crazy default pattern, to disengage. You can step out of crazy. I’ve seen people do it,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], I’ve done it, and it is so powerful. I figure you can work on yourself to kingdom come and sometimes a crazy just likes to rear its head. You’re heading down the path - when all of sudden you’re terrified of leaving your home and going outside, or your body issues start to control you, or depression takes over, or you are completely stressed out over someone or something else,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], or you get thoroughly overwhelmed and paralyzed,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], or….. there you fill in your brand o’ crazy – what is it that takes control and takes over and takes you down? Touch down! Crazy wins. And the crazy crowd goes, well… crazy!! Yup. That’s the funny thing about life. We all got something.
We can choose to put all our chips down and turn the roulette wheel betting in favor of our crazy or we can take our chips while we’re well ahead, and walk away. ‘Coz crazy will win. Crazy takes down. Crazy was created to sabotage us. We think it’s real,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], we think its helping. Crazy is just something we decided somewhere along the way and it is the default M.O that pops up in our life to stop our momentum.

Do any of these sound familiar?
Another friend (we’ll call her Shelly) received the call we’ve all had and dreaded. The one where the caller invites us on a date, and the one where we instantly know that going on a date with that particular caller is NOT what we want to do. What to do, she asked me later. What do I say?
It might not seem so. Just like it might not be easy to be honest with someone: we’ve learned it’s more acceptable, more kind, to lie to them. It’s unusual to say something like “I love you, and I’m leaving.” We can simultaneously love someone and not want to live with him or her. It’s unusual to say something like “thank you for the invitation, and no.” We can simultaneously appreciate their courage and consideration to ask us out, and respect both them and ourselves by being true.
Somewhere in her a voice tells her she ‘should’ say yes. Most of us unconsciously don’t want to say no to our father or mother – doing so might mean losing love. Regardless of the reason, forgetting the ‘why’ of it, the honest answer is clear.
But really, whatever the case, abercrombie and fitch, I do have the sense that it has
everything to do with me - how I see myself is determining what my life looks like. Why is it so hard for me to put myself first and trust that it will all work out, hogan?
He goes on:

To some, what I’m describing might sound selfish. That’s what we’ve been taught to think (by religion, society, parents…). The truth is that when we’re really going for what we want - creating excitement and happiness for ourselves, when we’re turned on – our inner state changes and we’re naturally generous and giving and uplifting to everything and everyone around us. By contrast, when we’re compromising and holding ourselves back because we think we should, even without realizing it, we’re getting stingy and resentful. We’re not blossoming into the world like we could, in the gorgeous way that our straight-lined world is crying out for. When resentments disappear, it’s also easier for us to be compassionate, so that when we tell the truth we do so considering the other person’s feelings, hollister uk, we do so artfully.
It’s not, however, a recipe for telling everyone else in your life exactly what he or she wants to hear.
What funny creatures we are. The stories we invent to avoid the truth. I’ve got to work, I have plans, I’m tired, louboutin pas cher, I’m engaged, air jordan pas cher, I’m celibate… blah, blah, blah.
Some years ago I lived at therapy center with a big emphasis on relating, dating and sexuality. Their rules for dating:
It might sound small, or insignificant - what difference does a little, white lie make? A HUGE difference. Not from the moral perspective, because it’s right or correct or better to be honest. It makes a difference directly in our life, in what we experience. When we are honest with others, they’re more likely to be honest with us. When we’re clear and true about what we want in life, we’re more likely to experience it.
A friend (we’ll call him Phil) recently wrote to say that he’s having troubles in his relationship. He has been with Elaine for almost 3 years and he’s not really satisfied. A voice in him keeps telling him, and has been since the beginning, abercrombie, that he could have more of what he wants in a relationship. What to do, he asked. How does he put himself first?
It’s so tempting for the mind to analyze - paralysis by analysis - why ‘I might be doing this, air jordan pas cher,’ or ‘maybe the underlying reason is... ‘or I’m acting this way because really underneath...’ The sense I get from his email, though, is that he knows exactly what he wants. He doesn’t need any justifications for it, and doesn’t need reasons for it. He does need courage to create it. Courage to be honest about it (especially if what he wants seems like it’ll disappoint someone else). So often we hold back the truth for fear of its effect on someone else; however it’s frequently just what they need, whether they see that in the moment or not. Regardless, Satya (as Patanjali tells us) is part of our practice. It’s for us. Ultimately, we can never know what’s best for anyone else anyway.
2. If someone says no, ask him or her why. This is a tough one for most people. First, it’s a challenge for the person saying no to be honest about why. And then receiving the reason why, we tend to personalize their response. ‘Oh no, it’s me, I’m awful…’ Yet,ralph lauren, we have the chance to get some great information, some feedback. Maybe it’s got nothing to do with us – maybe they’re truthfully already with someone and not interested in dating others. Or maybe they’re just getting over a relationship with someone who looks just like us. On the other side, we might get some valuable information about ourselves. Perhaps they don’t want to go out with me because my breath smells bad. Or they find me inconsiderate or selfish or pushy. Now,air jordan, I might not like to hear that, yet if I realize that this person valued me enough to be honest, to go past the uncomfortable feelings of sharing what I might not want to hear, I could take that as helpful info. Their honesty is actually generosity – they value me receiving the truth more than the discomfort they might feel in giving it. I might like to start brushing my teeth or considering other people more. Or not. At least then I have a choice about it. Then I know why rather than making up reasons.
Should Phil stay or go? Who knows? If he’s courageous enough to listen to what feels true, to say it out loud, who knows what will happen. Elaine might also be dissatisfied, be ready to move on. His honesty might spark the relationship to change. He might see things differently once he risks telling her how he feels. In any case he’ll align himself with his truth; he’ll be more alive and feel better.
Brenda Euland’s recipe for writing and life is really just one ingredient. If we’re honest, we are doing what we want. Everything in life is optional.
Let’s drop the why questions – for now it’s not important why it’s been hard to put himself first. The point is, now he can change that pattern. He can just do it. And it doesn’t mean he doesn’t care about others or that they’re less important. Actually, it’s the opposite. As we become more honest and place a higher value on what we really want, it brings a higher/happier us to interact with others - and it encourages them to be more honest with us, and with themselves.
As children we probably all heard from adults that we should tell the truth, (meanwhile we observed many of them doing the opposite). Certainly it’s a considerate gesture to be honest, perhaps even generous (more on this later). Yet, as Patanjali tells us, the benefit is really for us. Patanjali doesn’t say “you should be honest.” He says, “if you’d like to reach Samadhi (peace, bliss, liberation), then Satya - and all the other 7 limbs - might help.”
She offered a recipe for good writing, theorizing it could also be a recipe for good living.
1,louboutin. Always tell the truth.
2,hollister uk. Always do what you want to do.
When studying writing some years ago, I found a book by Brenda Euland. I read only the back of the book, and yet her words zapped me with bolt of insight I’ll never forget.
1. Always go for your first choice. Even if you’re first choice says no, at least you’ve said yes to yourself. If you don’t go for your first choice, then your second or twelfth choice is really a lie – you don’t really want to be with them, you were just scared to ask who you really wanted to be with.
…part of me says, "well, there must be something else here for me." I ask myself "what's keeping me in this situation?" What am I getting out of it? Perhaps it's a confirmation that ‘things have to be difficult to be worthwhile.’ Perhaps it's a sense of belonging and security and safety.
Author's Bio:
“It’s just a little white lie.”
“I didn’t want to hurt his/her feelings,abercormbie.”
“I was just being polite.”
I keep having this voice that says, "Move on, this relationship doesn’t fit."
Similarly, Shelly doesn’t want to disappoint the man who’s summoned the courage to call and ask her out.
When we investigate the Yama (restraints) and Niyama (observances) of Patanjali’s Yoga Sutra, often we spend considerable time with Ahimsa (non-harming), with Bramacharya (using sexual energy to move us closer to God), with others, yet we skim over Satya. Why? Perhaps because Satya seems straightforward, obvious – and yet, there’s more to it than we realize.
Phil wrote:
Though easy in principle - ‘tell the truth’ – Satya is not always so easy in practice. What if the truth is difficult, might hurt someone’s feelings, or gets in the way of what we want? How honest are we with ourselves?
As the subtitle to Brad Blanton’s book (Radical Honesty) so concisely states: ‘telling the truth can change your life.’ Like many worthwhile endeavors, this may not be easy - and the rewards are manifold.
That’s the voice of honesty. He’s hearing it - at least sometimes – and he’s being honest with himself.

Your traditional phone system is burning your budget,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]
Often times traditional phone systems require a overhaul before you can add extensions and lines and as we all know the hardware that you need does not come cheap and in some instances conventional carriers will require you to add lines and extensions in bundles of 3 or 5 even if you what you need is only 1 or two so you’ll be paying for services that are just sitting around,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]. With a cloud PBX no overhaul or upgrade is needed and best of all you can add incrementally so you only have to pay for the actual services that you use,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych].
Apart from that features of a cloud PBX is often a onetime payment unlike traditional companies that may charge a monthly fee,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], like the menu system,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], IVR and so on. Other basic features like caller ID,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], call forwarding and call waiting are a standard function that is absolutely free which may cost around $15 a month with traditional carriers.

Apart from savings most businesses make the switch to a cloud PBX because their current phones just do not perform the necessary tasks their business requires. These one size fits all platforms are not designed according to your requirements,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], but rather designed to appeal to general conditions. With VoIP you can fully customized your phones,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], incorporate all your needed features according to how you want it and change it as you your business develops. Are you tired of paying thousands of dollars on your telecommunication bills? On average a cloud PBX system can cut down your monthly bills by half and return on investment can be expected in 3 to 6 months depending on the number of handsets your system is consist of. Savings generally come from cheaper dial rates both for mobile,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], local and international calls so basically the more calls you make as a company the bigger the savings can get.
You probably have heard of a cloud PBX business phone system at this point in time as it created a worldwide fuzz and surely what entails it is the cost effectiveness of the technology and the smart features that you can benefit from,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], however one way or the other there will be blunders why a business still won’t opt for the technology,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], to help you decide here are some hints and cues that it is time to make the switch now.

Proposal Manager holds one of the key positions in a proposal management team. He controls the proposal plan, an operative control, i.e. every step of a proposal making. He implements proposal processes and planning and manages proposal schedules, plans,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], deadlines, and progress monitoring and develops the proposal outline and compliance matrix. It is the work of a proposal manager to make sure that the proposal gets required staffing and the necessary resources and to coordinate all the proposal making activities.
Proposals responding to Government RFPs or Government proposals to be short,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], can easily have Proposal Manager in a key position. Now let us take a look at what Government proposal exactly is.
The Competitive Market and the APMP
In lieu of the Government Proposals it is clear that the market is more competitive than ever and hence a captivating proposal has a huge role to play, and so a proposal manager will be keen to hone their skills in order to have an edge over their competitors. Hence APMP comes in. APMP or Association of Proposal Management Professionals is an association that works for the advancement of arts,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], sciences,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], and technology of new business acquisition and to promote the professionalism of those involved in these areas.
Through education APMP provides its members, access to tools, methods, processes, innovations,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], talent and specialized expertise that can directly improve their ability to attract customers and to have sustained growth and competitiveness. Proposal managers looking for the latest tools, tips, techniques, and other career enhancements can obtain huge benefit from an association with the APMP.

Government Proposal
A government contract proposal, often called a government proposal in business,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], is a response to written requirements issued by a government entity that wants to buy something. Governments request competitive contract proposals when they believe more issues are involved than just initial cost in buying. Along with cost, governments often consider issues such as risk, schedule, quality and long-term cost. Government proposals are written in response to specific requests for proposals (RFPs) which specify the requirements the government wants in the product or service it wishes to buy.

Where do you find antioxidants? Well, if you take a look at fruits and vegetables that have bright appetizing colors, you have found your ticket away from Alzheimer's and other brain malfunctions. The bright colors exhibited by certain fruits and vegetables are actually caused by antioxidants; theoretically, the brighter and richer the color of a fruit or vegetable,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], the higher concentration of antioxidant substances.
You can also improve the health of your brain by taking up supplements, such as Neurovar, which are specially formulated for your brain. For more details about brain supplements,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], visit [link widoczny dla zalogowanych]
On top of this, as you count the years that you have lived,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], millions of neurons found in the brain simply stop to send and receive impulses which are the primary means of communication for your brain cells. The overall effect is a total decline in your brain's ability to organize and handle thoughts. The obvious solution is for your brain to create new perfectly-functioning cells. But before you can even say replacement, your brain tells you that when you are sixty, it is already having a hard time or no longer capable of creating new cells.
The Antioxidant Story
The most prominent subject in the study about the connection between food and the brain is the one about antioxidants. Basically antioxidants are organic substances that are secreted by plants as a protection from cellular destabilization caused by free radicals. Antioxidants have been also found to effectively counter the oxidative deterioration that happens in the brain as you age.
Causes Of Alzheimer's Disease
Generally speaking, foods rich in selenium, vitamins C and E,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], and beta-carotene are also rich in antioxidants. In the case of vitamins C and E,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], they boost your immune system in defending against any bacterial or viral attack. Selenium on the other hand has been known to help fight oxidation in the cells. But the most famous of all antioxidants is beta-carotene which can protect you from the harshness of solar radiation.
Doctors have been continually baffled by what causes Alzheimer's. But one thing is for sure, as people age,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], a waxy fibrous stuff called amyloid starts to accumulate in the brain. Amyloid plaque is responsible for the degeneration of various tissues in the body; you can just imagine what this substance can do when it gathers in your brain.
There are more than 75 million baby boomers in the United States. And as the biggest portion of this generation approaches retirement age, more and more of its members are becoming concerned about memory problems, particularly Alzheimer's disease. If you belong to the baby boomer generation, you should be concerned too; the common form of Alzheimer's disease can afflict anyone who is at least sixty years old. This disease can be more sporadic rather than hereditary,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], which is why Alzheimer's has become the most common cause for dementia and other ailments characterized by the decline in brain functioning.
If you eat fruits and vegetables that have high levels of antioxidants, you absorb the same substances that protect plants from elements like pollution and extreme weather conditions. Antioxidants in your body will help you reverse most of the effects of aging. From painful joints, to wrinkly skin,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], to ailing organs, up to a malfunctioning brain,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], antioxidants seem to be the real fountain of youth.
Is It Really This Hopeless For Aging People,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]?

The good news is that,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], various studies and researches about nutrition have been found to directly affect the brain's functioning. With the right kind of diet, you can protect your brain from Alzheimer's and reverse the effects of aging to your brain. Although these findings are relatively new,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], the link between food and the brain sounds promising.

If you are on the hunt for a job in the accounting profession then having a well written and professional resume will be a necessary component of a successful job search. The resume is a first chance at a sales pitch of yourself and your skills to a potential employer and must make an impression or risk being thrown in the trash or dismissed at the first screening.
Hopefully you enjoyed these Accounting Resume tips to help you write the best Accounting Resume to help you get the interview and the job you want,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]. Click through for more tips and advice,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych].
The five tips below will be helpful when writing a resume and will go a long way to making your resume stand out from the crowd.
Objective Statement – Conventional resume wisdom says to put an objective statement on the top of your resume. This is an approach where the conventional wisdom should be ignored. The current thinking is that a resume should be a maximum of two pages,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], and one if there is limited experience. Why would you want to use valuable resume space saying something that the potential employer already knows,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], which is something like “To obtain a challenging job that will help me advance my career”? In place of an objective statement,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], include a skills summary instead listing some key skills or accomplishments to grab the reader's attention early and keep them interested in what you can bring to the company.
Resume Review – Have a trusted friend, and preferably a fellow professional read and review your resume before sending it out. If possible,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], have someone who has been a hiring manager read it and make recommendations. Someone who has actually been in a position of evaluating resumes can provide invaluable input into your resume that will help in obtaining an interview.
These five tips should help to improve an accountant's resume writing ability and make for a better end product if followed,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]. Remember that your resume is your first and maybe only chance to sell the employer on you and why they should grant an interview. Use that chance wisely,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych].
Check Your Staffing Agency – If using a staffing agency,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], recruiter,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], or head hunter make sure that they are sending your resume as you have provided it, or are reviewing any changes with you prior to sending it out. Some agencies have taken the data from their client's resumes and placed it into their standard template with their firm letterhead and in the process have made formatting errors appear that make the resume appear less than professional. This would be the last thing that you would want to have happen when using someone to assist in a job search.

Excel and Computer Skills – Be detailed and accurate about your experience with computers. For accountants, knowledge of the Microsoft Office programs and Excel specifically will be most important. Give a true representation of your experience level, and if you are an intermediate and advanced user, then show that by using the terminology of what you are able to do in those programs so the hiring manager doesn't have to guess at the level of expertise.
Be Industry Specific – Tailor the resume to the industry being applied for to the greatest extent possible. If applying for a public accounting job then experience in tax and audit would want to be emphasized to a greater extent than when applying for a private company job that focuses on financial reporting. If there are actual industry specific rules such as in the oil and gas industry, then be sure to indicate the knowledge about those rules in the resume as well. This will help you to standout over someone with a more generic resume.

First Symbol of Authority: Titles
Ethical Marketing
Part 6 of this seven-part series of articles, which are based on Dr. Robert Cialdini’s book, "Influence: The Psychology of Persuasion," explains the fifth principle of influence – Authority.

The relationship between size and status also applies to certain animals. For some species, size is an important factor in determining the dominance and status of males in the group. Size-enhancing tricks (e.g., arching backs, bristling coats, extending fins,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], unfurling and fluttering wings) are often used in contests between two males to communicate dominance and to avoid conflict.
For example, Robert Young once played the role of a physician (Marcus Welby) in a television series. He also became a spokesperson for Sanka and tauted the benefits of drinking their coffee. Although Young was not a real medical authority, many people watching the commercials bought the product because they believed that he was the “real McCoy.”
The Appearance of Authority
For example, Robert Young was not a real physician promoting the health benefits of Sanka coffee in the television commercials. Although viewers may have thought of him as Marcus Welby, M.D., he did not have the proper credentials in real life to claim that Sanka coffee was healthy.
In the 1960's a series of now-famous experiments were conducted to determine the extent to which people responded to authority. These experiments involved three individuals: a Researcher, a Teacher, and a Learner.
The best defense against being hoodwinked in compliance situations in which the symbols of authority are being used to manipulate us is to increase one's level of awareness regarding the power of authority.
For instance, one study found that motorists waited significantly longer before honking their horns at the driver in a luxury car stopped in front of a green traffic light than at a driver in an old,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], economy car. In addition, while most motorists used their horns to get the attention of the economy car driver, half of the motorists behind the luxury car never even used their horns.
The Learner was expected to learn a list of pairs of words and to recall each pair correctly. The Teacher was told to test the Learner's memory and to deliver an increasingly stronger electric shock (i.e., a shock that increases by 15 volts) for each mistake made. Both the Researcher and Teacher left the Learner and went to another room to conduct the memory test through an intercom system.
About two-thirds of the subjects (i.e., Teachers) used the highest voltage available (a dangerous level of 450 volts!) to shock the Learners. Instead of yielding to the pleadings of the Learners to stop the experiment and to end the painful shocks, two out of three subjects obeyed the Researcher, who gave instructions to continue the experiment until the maximum punishment of 450 volts was delivered.
For example,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], in one experiment 92% of individuals gave a stranger some money for a parking meter after being told by someone wearing a security guard uniform to do so, compared to only a 42% compliance when the same person was dressed in regular clothes. In another experiment, people were found to be three and half times more likely to follow a jaywalker (crossing a street) attired in a business suit than someone who was wearing regular street clothes.
There is a lot of truth in the saying, “clothes make the man.” Many studies have repeatedly shown that people typically cannot resist responding to requests from or following the lead of individuals dressed in uniforms and business suits.
Author's Bio:&nbsp,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych];
Obedience to Authority
Like other principles of influence, the rule of authority offers a valuable shortcut regarding decisions we make in our daily lives. In most situations it benefits us to defer to authority.
Why, then, are we so eager to obey in response to authority's commands? Social scientists have pondered this question for decades. The evidence suggests that a system of authority has several advantages for a society. Without this system, and with anarchy taking its place, it would be impossible to develop sophisticated structures needed for production, trade, defense, and social control.
The results of this experiment surprised everyone. Why would so many ordinary people agree to inflict so much suffering simply because they were being told to do so? Many experiments were conducted to rule out certain explanations – that males (used in the original experiment) are naturally aggressive, that subjects did not understand how dangerous the electric shocks were, that the sample did not represent the population.
Learn the six universal principles of influence and how to use them to improve your marketing efforts,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych].
What do these research results mean in the workaday world? Our willingness to respond so effortlessly to the demands and wishes of authority have rather sobering implications. All forms of authority – government agencies, churches,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], educational institutions, scientists, physicians, and even our parents – are able to extract alarming levels of obedience from us simply by telling us what they want us to do.
In actuality, no shocks were delivered during this experiment, but people playing the role of Teacher believed that the Learner was being shocked for wrong answers. The Learner was an actor who was only pretending to be shocked. The real purpose of the experiment, therefore, was to see how much pain individuals are willing to inflict on an innocent person in response to orders given by someone in authority.
We all have experienced how we behave toward others based on what titles they hold. Individuals typically respond differently to doctors,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], lawyers, and CEOs than they do to janitors, garbage collectors, and factory workers.
Certain status symbols, like expensive cars,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], watches, and jewelry, influence most individuals in unexpected ways. Like prestigious titles and distinctive clothes, expensive extensions of ourselves help to mesmerize people into compliance with “authority.”
There are plenty of other symbols that consistently trigger our automatic response to authority when no real substance exists. These symbols are often used by compliance professionals to persuade us to take action that may not benefit us,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych].
Ethical marketing and sales practices involve using an authority that is truly an expert in the appropriate field. Unethical tactics come into play when organizations use fake authority symbols to get us to respond to their requests with automatic obedience.
What does all of this mean in the realm of humankind? First,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], it is clear that the association between size and status can be used profitably by people who want to give us the appearance of authority simply by faking their height. It is not uncommon for con men to wear lifts in their shoes.
Second, a prestigious title can easily be counterfeited by exploitative individuals to convey power and authority. The ease by which this can be achieved was illustrated by Frank Abagnale Jr. (portrayed by Leonardo DiCaprio in the movie, “Catch Me if You Can”), who successfully swindled organizations out of millions of dollars by posing as a pilot, doctor, and attorney over a period of years.
The Researcher (who was the “authority figure” because he wore a lab coat and used a clipboard) told the person playing the role of the Teacher that the experiment was being conducted to find out how punishment affects learning and memory,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych].
Second Symbol of Authority: Clothes
The Fifth Principle of Influence: Authority
But what often is a blessing can easily become a misfortune, especially when mindless obedience results in inappropriate action. At times we can do ourselves a great disservice if we simply react to the pressures of authority by allowing blind obedience to direct our behavior.
Third Symbol of Authority: Expensive Extensions
After the series of experiments was completed, the only plausible explanation for the results was this: people are unable to defy the wishes of authority because there is a deep-seated sense of authority within all of us.
Therefore, what should be called into question is not only the credentials of the messenger but also the verity of the message.
And it's not unusual for con artists to dress for their parts as “authority figures” when they attempt to get individuals to comply with their nefarious requests,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]. Frank Abagnale Jr. would not have duped so many people had he not worn the right clothes for the roles he was playing.
Consequently, it's no wonder that we are taught from birth that obedience to authority is “good” and that disobedience is “bad.” All of our social systems – including the parental, educational, legal, military, political, and religious – place high value on loyalty and submission to the proper authority.
This is not as easy as it sounds. The trick is to realize when the requests from so-called authority figures should be heeded and when they should be disregarded.
Various studies have empirically shown the connection between size and status. For example, the results of one experiment indicated that the perceived status of people affects estimates of how tall they are. Individuals with prestigious titles tend to be seen as taller in height. It appears it's the importance of a thing (whether it is an object or a person) that makes it seem bigger to us.
If a company does use the “authority card” in its advertising, not only should the authority figure be genuine and relevant, but the information being conveyed should be truthful. Authorities, even if they are authentic, don't always present information honestly.
The research clearly indicates that most of us are not aware of the degree to which our perceptions regarding authority affect our decisions and behavior. This is exactly what unscrupulous compliance professionals are counting on as they attempt to influence us with titles, clothes, and other trappings of authority.
Our automatic, yielding response to authority figures makes us vulnerable to the symbols of authority, which may have no genuine substance. The mere appearance of authority may produce compliance.

Of course we'd kill them right away, and we'd go from there.
When I was a youngster growing up in Texas, we had a problem with scorpions. If you don't know what they are, look it up in the dictionary. They have pinchers, they look like little miniature lobsters, and they have venom. Now,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], that venom is not fatal—it's not like that of the Brown Recluse spider—but it's the kind of thing that can get you in the night.

Be prepared for anything,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], because anything can happen.
They always tell you to expect the unexpected. But you know, even after a while, the unexpected becomes expected—and it's easier to prepare for.
His sister, 91 years of age, was sleeping tranquilly in her bed. For those of you who know La Ciudad de Panamá (Panamá City),[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], she lives in a sector called Juan Diaz. And of course there are bad guys here—we call them maliantes—just like there are everywhere. It's no different than L.A., I can guarantee you that for sure.
Author's Bio:
And I'm not laughing at all at her misfortune… It would be serious to anybody. But can you imagine the way she sat bolt upright? Can you imagine her wondering what in the hell happened? Can you imagine being prepared for that?
She’s not living in a war zone, or a neighborhood that’s that bad. Interesting, isn’t it?
One of the most striking memories I have is when my brother came to visit me one day,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], and of course we didn't have a lot of extra space,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], so he was sleeping on the floor. Well, at two or three a.m., I remember screaming, hollering, yelling. A scorpion had stung him in the night. It got into his covers, on the little pallet we'd made on the floor.

Now that was expected, so shame on him. We let him do it. But I'll tell you what—I just heard a story from someone else just recently. I just came from the funeral of my father-in-law,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], 74 years of age, may he rest in peace.
And I guarantee you, in the house I grew up in—and it was on the edge of the city,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], so it was a little bit worse than being in the interior—our beds did not touch the walls, and the covers never touched the floors. Because scorpions can climb, you know…
But,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], how do you expect the unexpected? These youths come out and they're shooting off some guns up into the air—and a bullet comes down from the sky while this lady is sleeping, penetrates her roof, goes through her ceiling,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], strikes her in her knee,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], and shatters her knee.
Therefore, when I was growing up,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], just like in movies about the Old West,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], we never once—well, let's put this way, maybe once, but never again—put our shoes (or God forbid our boots) on without turning them upside down, shaking them a few times, beating them against the frame of the doorway so the scorpions would fall out.

Here are a few simple rules for crystal clear communications.
Life is all about communications. It starts with our first cry and finishes with our last breath. Every interchange with another person is,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], at it’s core communication, so wouldn't it make sense for all of us to get really good at it.
One of the biggest issues I've seen over the years working with clients is that of communications. So often,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], situations can go array simply for lack of crystal clear communications. Part of the problem is also part of the beauty; we all have different communication styles. And as much as this ads to the inherent complexity and fascination of life, it can also be frustrating when we are "speaking different languages" and not even aware of it.
5. Respond Respond Respond Communication is a two way street, and if listening is one half,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], responding is the other. Conversation,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], written or verbal is alive, it's an interchange. It’s very much like throwing a ball and playing catch. My job is not only to toss the ball to you in a manner in which you are most likely to catch it, but to do my best to catch it - receive it, when you return it to me. Going silent,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], not acknowledging the other person’s statements or questions or not confirming (as in the case of emails, voicemails etc.) can lead to misunderstandings, confusion and hurt feelings. Once you have taken the time to listen, give the other person the gift of knowing they’ve been heard. This is also a great way to nip misinterpretations in the bud!
2. Drop the Defenses If someone is truly trying to get clear with you, whether asking for more info or offering it, don't get huffy. This is not a personal affront or attack, it's only information. The same applies in reverse. As many opportunities as there are for getting offended,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], there are just as many for understanding. Ask first before making any hasty judgments.
4. Listen We all want to be heard, but the other half of that is listening. I can only be heard if you give me your attention and listen to me, and vice versa. Being heard feels great! And through listening we can learn so much. When someone is speaking, physically close your mouth, this actually increases your capacity to hear. Before you start formulating your response in your head, let them finish. Food is no good half-baked,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], and neither are our ideas or responses.
Until next time, listen up, get clear and enjoy a new simplicity in communications!

This week,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], I challenge you to get clearer with your communications. Pick one area from the list above and see if you can master it! Notice what changes it brings about in your life, how you interact with others and them with you.
1. Get Clear This may seem obvious, but easier said than done. Make sure, as in the example above that you both have the same idea if exactly what it is that you are talking about. If tennis can mean such different things to different people, imagine what different ideas there could be on love,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], marriage, relationships, office etiquette and more. Asking for clarification is not rude, nor does it mean you're a moron, is healthy and respectful for everyone involved and the relationships.
The second person in this scenario had a vastly different upbringing. Tennis was an event. It was something the family did on Sunday afternoons together. It started with brunch, proper tennis whites,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], and ended with time for conversation and drinks. Both people had a different picture in their minds for the word "tennis". Both people had an entirely different expectation for the day. And both people, thought that they were absolutely right and that the other was slightly insane with unrealistic, not to mention unheard of, expectations. From the outside it’s easy to see how something so simple could go so wrong, but from inside the picture, and we’re all in the pictures in our own lives, things aren't always so obvious.
One of my favorite example is of a couple who would continually get into fights over playing tennis. Both people loved tennis and had been playing it all their lives. Both felt this was the perfect way to spend a Sunday afternoon, and agreed that they wanted to do this together. So, what is the problem? Why did tennis always result in a fight, hurt feelings and unnecessary drama? Because they hadn't taken the time to define what "tennis" meant to each one of them; essentially to define the word. In this particular situation, one person grew up with a very average middle class life. Tennis meant you grabbed your racket and a few balls, threw on your running shoes and headed over to the local school or community centre for an hour or two.
3. Say What You Mean, and Mean What You Say How many times have you taken someone's words to heart, only to have them say "I was only kidding." Or "I just said that. I didn't mean anything by it." In a business situation this can be frustrating time consuming and costly. In personal situations, heartbreaking. Speak your truth and stand by it. We don't get to keep many things in this life,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], but the value of your word can never be taken from you,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], only given away.

Organize Your Team Effectively
Once you have a plan in hand,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], full game production commences. This is the most exciting time for a game project. Literally every day new features will come online,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], and on a healthy project, the team will feed itself with new energy to propel forward. In this Para we initially discusses how to create task visibility so everyone knows what he or she needs to do and how far along the rest are in their tasks. Controlling feature creep,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], reaching alpha, and freezing new features are critical to finishing your game. All of the mega-hits in our industry kept their feature sets narrow and the polish deep. I will point this out again: The mega-hits such as Doom,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], Warcraft,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], Myst,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], Gran Turismo,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], Mario64, and The Sims are not small games; rather their feature set is small but polished to a superior degree. This article will show you how to get a grip on your features. If you think about it, teams with one developer must use their time even more effectively than a fat 30- person production. All the methods of creating achievable tasks,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], measuring progress,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], and controlling features are even more critical for very small teams.
Fairly audacious heading,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], huh? There are a lot of articles out there that are introductions to C++ or Direct3D, or discuss the construction of a real-time strategy game. What these articles do not cover is which development methodologies you should employ in creating your game. In this Article we give you idea how to make a game and what is game development.
Author&#039,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych];s Bio:
First Have a Plan
Games that have a poor development methodology (or none at all) take much longer than they should, run over budget and tend to be unreasonably buggy The majority of commercial games fail to turn a profit. Figuring out what your game needs to do is called "requirements capture." In this para we will show you how to use formalized methods such as the Unified Modeling Language's use case diagrams to quickly collect your requirements and communicate them effectively to your team and other project stakeholders. Even if you are working on a solo project, you must still take your game's project planning seriously. Games are certainly special; however, a point I will be making repeatedly throughout this article is that game development is software development. Games are software with art, audio, and game-play. Financial planning software is software that is specialized for financial transactions and planning,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], expert systems are software with artificial intelligence, and cockpit instrumentation is software dedicated to flying an aircraft. Too often game developers hold themselves apart from formal software development and production methods with the false rationalization that games are an art, not a science.

Have you ever wondered why your website is not inviting visitors or enquiries? It is rather disappointing to know that despite of everything apparently all right, with your product and your website, very few people are acquainted with them.

Stress can be brought on by the littlest of things, prolonged by our imaginations, thoughts, emotional patterns, and even our desires. Why do we do this; why behave in such a way that is so harmful and stifling to our happiness? Because we often know no other way. We believe life requires this; that there is a pattern and our behavior must match. If we were stressed out at one time, then we must follow this pattern and repeat it because this is how it works. When in reality there is no reason to compel ourselves to feel stressed. It inhibits our responses; it slows us down. Our actions are muddled by our thoughts and emotions. Stress is a tool that is no longer truly beneficial or necessary, and yet we use it daily.
Author&#039,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych];s Bio:&nbsp,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych];
Stress is a learned behavior; it is holding onto something that bothers us,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], affects us, and imbalances us. We choose,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], in a way, to accept it and prolong it by holding onto it. Stress was once a factor in our lives when we related it to fear, a response brought on by stimuli and a need to respond. But in those times,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], we learned to relate stress to only those moments, as was needed, and then we soon let it go. Now, we relate to most situations from a place of fear and therefore are stressed. If we come instead from a place without fear,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], stress doesn’t find its way into the equation.
If you see stress as a method and not a program within you, then you can more wisely understand it. See it only as a response to the largest moments. And within those kinds of moments,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], know that it only relates to those and is soon let go of. For once the moment ceases, which it does, and once you have processed it,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], accepted it, and let it go, the stress too flows away. It is us who keep it coming and present in our lives. We hold onto it so that we can somehow better relate to the event. The moment, even though it has passed, is still flowing within our minds and bodies. We keep relating back to it and thus keep a hold of the stress. So to release stress and this behavior, we must first realize that stress is unnecessary, and that by finally letting it go with the moment,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], you no longer need to carry it with you. How often have you gone to bed still stressed about the day,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], woken up feeling the same although the moment has passed? This could carry on for weeks, and with the addition of more stress being added, it is no wonder we live in this state.
We have the capability to release stress with the moment,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], so that we can move on. It is a choice and a learned behavior; therefore, it is just the same in the releasing of it. Imagine in moments when you are aware of feeling stressed, being able to say to yourself okay, I accept that, I see it for what it is, and now I will let it go. It is as simple as this; we make it more complicated in our minds than we need to. Stress doesn’t need to be an everyday occurrence in our lives. Instead,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], when you feel it adjust your thought patterns, breathe deeply into it and see it for what it is. It is a response to the moment; it is an elevated feeling of fear, an emotional and thought driven complication that is no longer required once it is realized. When you understand this, it is easier to accept it for what it is which is the only way to release it. In the very moment it happens, see it, accept the moment, and then release it. Do not carry it or the moment longer then you need to. You will be better equipped to deal with whatever follows and you will feel lighter, happier, and more open. Stress is a triggered response and once you see it this way, the behavior becomes false and unnecessary for you to fully live your life. By letting it go as soon as you feel it and seeing it for what it is, you will find that the pattern tends to cease and you will become clearer in the moments that used to feel stressful.

In a recent study, conducted by Towers Perrin and the researchers of Gang & Gang, they surveyed a randomly selected group of 1,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych],100 employees and 300 senior Human Resources executives working for mid-sized & large-sized companies in the United States and Canada. Participants were asked to describe their feelings about their current work. The study captured participants' spontaneous emotional responses to the total work experience. The study determined that the reasons for workplace negativity are these top five:
• An excessive workload
• Concerns about management’s ability to lead the company successfully forward
• Anxiety about the future, particular longer-term jobs, income & retirement security
• Lack of challenge in their work, boredom intensifying the existing frustration about workload
• Insufficient recognition for the level of contribution and effort provided with issues that the salary wasn’t commensurate with performance.
If you think you might be becoming part of a brew crew, ask yourself:
? Are you taking the conversational ‘bait’ to become involved in malicious gossip such as, ‘Have you heard that….’?
? Are you becoming defensive over public attacks on your job performance or individual character? And, how can you stop these attacks without causing animosity, a private conversation with a colleague? Remember that many bullies enjoy having an audience.
? If your company has downsized, how can you engage management to discuss job security, career pathing, and the rebuilding of trust with the remaining employees?
? How can you set the expectations with your staff or colleagues that negativity is inconsistent with the values of the company? How can you challenge their negative behavior without being confrontational and overbearing?
? What self-governing departmental responses can you put in place to counter negative responses such as, “I know you may need to talk about this event; but,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], we need to discuss the situation in a positive and problem solving context.”
? If a colleague is the crusader with unrealistic solutions,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], how can you help them look at the disruptiveness of their behavior without just moving the blame? What conversation can you have with them to promote healthy problem solving, not just continuing the complaining?
? If employee recognition needs a boost,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], what recognition system can you and management create that rewards the outcomes that your people create for your business?
? If an industry newsletter has referenced a problem and cited your company, what actions can you take to quell the unrest and eliminate the rumors spreading through the employees? What other gatherings can you invite the employees to beyond calling a staff meeting such as,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], a 30 minute coffee Q & A session or a lunch to share the true information regarding the company?
? For an employee that has been fired and is circulating false information about the company, in what environment can you validate the falsehood of that hearsay with the staff? Where will the staff be the most receptive to your discussion,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], in the break room, an outside patio, the executive conference room, even the company gym?
Let’s look at two sources of employee negativity and how they come about in work organizations. The first is socio-situational negativity and is caused by personal stressors. These employees find themselves caught in stressful circumstances such as, pending divorces, child or elder care demands,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], financial scarcity; and, possibly the greater demands of job promotion. The second is iatro-genic negativity. Employees in this second category demonstrate a coping response to frustration,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], helplessness, and the lack of compensation for their efforts. This poor adaptive response is a direct result of oppressive, unrealistic working demands, and blame & punishment based management methods.
It’s a rare workplace environment that hasn’t experienced the corrosive effects of chronic negativity. Like a bad mood,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], negative behavior can spread among departments, even wide spread enough to infect company divisions or regions. It can be practiced by one individual or groups of individuals wanting to belong to something bigger than themselves. In the search for professinal kinship, groups will take issues and brew them until they are as scorched as bad coffee. Conseqeuntly, we coined a term for them, the Brew Crew. Unfortunately, the something ‘bigger’ becomes the shame & blame game or simply gossip-mongering honoring no one. Persistent negativity can be the result of poor management, inadequate shift staffing,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], lack of employee training, individual health problems,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], or symptoms of the bully & manipulator personality types.
Many employees that demonstrate negativity are highly productive, continually meeting project deadlines. If you ask one of these folks why they practice this behavior, they will tell you that they are problem solvers, even crusaders for causes within the company. As one crusader told us, “The senior management staff needs to know the shortcomings of all those in the supervisor role here! I’m doing them a favor by documenting all their deficiencies and bringing them to our staff meeting every week!”
“It is unfortunate, considering that enthusiasm moves the world, that so few enthusiasts can be trusted to speak the truth.” Arthur Balfour
